About the Vance Twins

In 1984, when the Vance twins were 12 years old…
their father survived a traumatic brain injury from a 100-foot fall while hang-gliding, which resulted in a permanent disability and impacted his fine and gross motor control skills. He was forced to retire early from a 32-year career in aerospace and underwent months of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. During junior high and high school, The twins helped their father daily with his recovery before and after high school.

Twins Found in a Box: Adapting to Adoption
From Trauma to Triumph…
Motivated by their father’s injury and the various therapies required for him to resume independence, Jenette entered occupational therapy and has been working in the field since 1997. Janine served as her father’s primary caregiver from 1997 until he died in 2021 at 90. During those years with him, she developed and produced more than twelve books in ebooks and paperbacks, including Twins Found in a Box, The Search for Mother Missing, and numerous feature-length screenplays.
